Home My WebLink AboutR-2011-055 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO PURCHASE A 2011 INTERNATIONAL WORKSTAR 4X6 TANDEM AXLE TRUCK WITH SEWER VAC CHASSIS FROM NAVISTAR, INC., C/O RECHTIEN INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $93,077.00, AND A VAC-CON SEWER COMBINATION CLEANER MACHINE, INCLUDING INSTALLATION FROM SOUTHERN SEWER EQUIPMENT SALES, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $210,029.45, BOTH PURCHASES TO BE UNDER FLORIDA SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION CONTRACT PRICING; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part 111, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of $25,000.00 without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last eighteen (18) months by other governmental agencies such as the federal government, State of Florida or a Florida county or municipality; and WHEREAS, the City Commission previously approved budget funding in the Sewer Fund for the purchase of a Vac-Con Sewer Combination Cleaner machine using Sewer debt issuance as the funding source; and WHEREAS, the City Commission approved as part of its CIP review eliminating this purchase from the Sewer Department and adding it to the General Fund using funding from accumulated General Fund-Comp. Plan reserves; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that such equipment purchases can be made for the Public Services Department at the least cost to the City from Navistar, Inc., c/o Rechtien International Trucks, Inc. in the amount of $93,077.00 and from Southern Sewer Equipment Sales, Inc. in the amount of$210, 029.45, which Contracts are attached as Exhibits "A" and "B", respectively, and both exhibits are made a part of this Resolution by this reference; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the foregoing recitals are incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to pay an amount not to exceed the sum of$93,077.00 to NaviStar, Inc. c/o Rechtien International Trucks, Inc. for the purchase of a 2011 International Workstar 4X6 Tandem Axle Truck with Sewer Vac Chassis for the Public Services Department. Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to pay an amount not to exceed the sum of $210,029.45 to Southern Sewer Equipment Sales, Inc. for the purchase and installation of a Vac-Con Sewer Combination Cleaner machine for the Public Services Department. Section 4. That funding for these equipment purchases were initially planned through the Sewer loan proceeds, but this loan is cancelled and removed from the Sewer budget. Purchase funding approved for this purchase by a transfer from available General Fund - Comprehensive Plan Reserve balances to the Streets Department-Capital Projects Account No. 001-4101-541.64-00 in the amount of$303,106.45. Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 6.
