Exhibit `A'
CITY OF DANIA BEACH
Water Distribution-Model in-
US 17915.00 Amendment No. 1
REASON FOR AMENDMENT
Under the original Agreement dated November 9, 2009 Keith and Schnars, P.A. was tasked to evaluate the
City's water distribution system through development of a WaterCAD model.
In the process of creating the model, additional improvements were made within the City's distribution
system. In an attempt to provide an accurate and representative model, a number of modifications and
updates were required. With each modification, the model was calibrated and compared against observed
pressures and flow characteristics. The additional modifications and efforts to establish a baseline model
resulted in services extending beyond the original scope of the project.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Section 1: Civil Engineering
1.05 Water distribution Modeling Maintenance(Additional)
The WaterCAD model was to be developed from information provided by the City. In the early stages of
model development corrections to the atlas information was needed. In addition, data for existing demands
needed to be manipulated to correlate with recorded use.
As model progressed, through several meetings with staff and various drafts presented, CONSULTANT
was informed of improvements within the City's distribution system. Several requests were made and
additional information was provided by the City and consultants working on City water main projects. As
improvements were identified, the model was modified and calibrated to correlate with observed pressure
readings. These improvements included Melaleuca Gardens, NW/SW 1st Avenue, SE 2"d Avenue, Gulf
Stream Canal Crossing, Broward County improvements from Taylor Road to NE 10th Street and deficient
fire flows identified at NE 7th,Avenue and NW 14m Avenue(Melaleuca Gardens).
With the additional modifications and updates to the model in conjunction with manipulation of existing
data, CONSULTANT's efforts exceeded the scope and budget of the original contract. CONSULTANT is
requesting additional fees to account for this effort.
CONSULTANT'S lump sum fee for this service shall be.................................................$12,000.00
