HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2012-048 - Suspended Matching Funds from City Building Fund & Approved Appropriations in General Fund - Community Development Department related to Urban & Community Forestry Grant RESOLUTION NO. 2012-048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO SUSPEND MATCHING CITY FUNDS FROM THE CITY BUILDING FUND AND APPROVING USE OF APPROVED APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL FUND — COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDING RELATED TO THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT AWARDED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 9, 2011, pursuant to Resolution 2011-023, the City Commission approved matching City funds of up to $10,000.00 from the Building Fund Account #107-1502- 524-3110 as match for a grant application with the Florida Department of Agriculture; and WHEREAS, on July 15, 2011, the City was awarded the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Urban and Community Forestry Grant; and WHEREAS, during the 2011-2012 budget process, it was determined that match expenditures relating to landscape services would more properly be funded from the General Fund-Community Development Department to coincide with revenues received from landscape permitting; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Commission authorizes the suspension of$10,000.00 previously approved matching City funds from the City Building Fund and authorizes the use of $10,000.000 in approved and available General Fund-Community Development Department funds from Account No. 001-1501-515-3110 for use as match with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Urban and Community Forestry Grant. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3.
