Call to Order Mayor Flury called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: Mayor: Patricia A. Flury Commissioners: Anne Castro Walter Duke Bobbie H. Grace City Manager: Robert Baldwin City Clerk: Louise Stilson Code Attorney: Tim Ryan Absent: Vice-Mayor: C. K. "Mac"McElyea City Attorney: Thomas J. Ansbro Commissioner Castro motioned to excuse the absence of Vice-Mayor McElyea; seconded by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried unanimously. 3. Abatement Requests 3.1 Consideration of the abatement request for Prince Washington Jr., for property located at 270 NW 14 Way, Case# 09-1754 (Folio # 0233-15-0040) Attorney Tim Ryan noted this case involved 10 violations: damaged or deteriorated windows; light fixtures, walls and fascia in disrepair; exposed electric wiring; broken fence; building exterior is weathered and deteriorated; a window was installed without building and zoning approval; and no permit for the front window. The fine ran for 623 days for a total of$62,549.50, including recording and admin fees. The Special Magistrate recommended an abatement of $2,700.00. Commissioner Castro motioned to abate the lien to $2,200.00, to be paid in 1 year; seconded by Commissioner Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.2 Approval of the settlement received for John Goodwin for property located at 3901 SW 58 Street, Case# 08-1565 (Folio # 0231-01-0670) Attorney Ryan noted the City received $56,828.75 as settlement. Commissioner Castro motioned to approve the settlement agreement, as recommended by Attorney Ryan; seconded by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried unanimously. 3.3 Approval of the settlement received for Paul Cates & Adrianna Mora for property located at 5199 SW 28 Terrace, Case# 09-1799 (Folio # 0232-10-0190) Attorney Ryan noted the City received $8,060.00 as settlement, plus $458.00 in administrative fees, and $440.05 in nuisance abatement costs, for a total of$8,958.05. Commissioner Castro motioned to approve the settlement agreement, as recommended by Attorney Ryan; seconded by Commissioner Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.4 Approval of the settlement received for FNMA c/o Flagstar Bank FSB for property located at 2630 SW 49 Court, Case # 10-1019 (Folio # 0232-02-0280) Attorney Ryan noted the City received $13,236.49 as settlement, plus $254.00 in administrative fees, and $1,509.51 in nuisance abatement costs, for a total of$15,000.00. Commissioner Castro motioned to approve the settlement agreement, as recommended by Attorney Ryan; seconded by Commissioner Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.5 Approval of the settlement received for Fannie Mae for property located at 720 SW 7 Street, Case # 11-0085 (Folio # 1203-34-0840) Attorney Ryan noted the City received $7,500.00 as settlement, plus $350.00 in administrative fees, for a total of$7,850.00. Commissioner Castro motioned to approve the settlement agreement, as recommended by Attorney Ryan; seconded by Commissioner Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 4.
