HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2012-080 - Awarded Bid to Lawn Wizard USA, Inc. for $222,740.00 for Grounds & Right-of-Way Maintenance RESOLUTION NO. 2012-080 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO LAWN WIZARD USA, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $222,740.00 FOR GROUNDS AND RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE; PROVIDING ASSURANCES; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on December 14, 2007, Alvarez Landscaping Group, Inc. executed an Agreement with the City for landscaping services to be performed throughout the City; and WHEREAS, the current Agreement expires on June 14, 2012; and WHEREAS, on June 12, 2012 the City Commission approved to extend the existing Agreement beyond June 14, 2012 not to extend beyond October 1, 2012 until bids recently received are evaluated and recommendation for award of new contract is made; and WHEREAS, advertisements for bids were placed in local papers on April 23, 2012; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach opened bids for Maintenance of Grounds and Right-of-Way on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:30 am; and WHEREAS, there were nine bidders and the low three bidders are as follows: Lawn Wizard USA, Inc. $222,740.00 LV Superior Landscaping, Inc. $239,005.00 The Landscape Company, Inc. $279,204.00; and WHEREAS, the City Bid review committee recommended that the City award the bid to the low bidder, Lawn Wizard USA, Inc; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the foregoing findings are incorporated by reference and made a part of this Resolution. Section 2. That the City of Dania Beach, Florida awards the low bid to Lawn Wizard USA, Inc., in the amount of $222,740.00, and authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute a contract for the work with that company. Section 3. That funding for the costs of this contract is available in various Grounds Maintenance accounts of City Departments throughout the City in object#46-50. Section 4. That all resolutions or part of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are repealed. Section 5.
