Discussion:
Clive Taylor advised that he received a letter from the lawyer regarding Pier Restaurant and
the Letter of Interest. Clive read the letter and he quoted "The City seeks an experienced
restaurateur who provides service consistent with beach uses The City wants to ensure that
restaurant design, d6cor, food and beverage services are harmonized with existing beach and
pier uses to the City's amenable to indoor an outdoor they restaurant is expected to serve
beach goers, fisherman, local residents, tourist and businesses to the area and affordable
menu choices that would appeal to various groups alike.
Clive made motioned that the Marine Advisory Board concurred with the Letter of Interest as
written for the Pier Restaurant seconded by Carol Stocrocki. All favored. Motioned passed
unanimously.

Clive also mentioned that the board does not have to be on the review panel, but feels that the
board should know who applied and who was selected on the short list.
Clive advised that the Broward County Marine Advisory Committee said that some of the
items listed under the Dania Beach City Marina Project critical review issues one of the
things there are saying is some items listed under the project description are fundable under
B.P.I.P. rules such as landscaping, signage, and walkways and the committee need to
determine other items. Clive advised that the City needs to clarify who going to operate the
marina at this point and that the application is not complete and that the City needs to provide
a resolution of support for the project from the City Commission before the Broward County
Marine Advisory Committee next project meeting on December 1,2011.
Jackye questioned the Port Everglades Expansion Project.
Clive advised that that project is being funded by F.I.N.D. and other groups and grant money.
He also noted that F.I.N.D. will manage the project and one of the contacts will be the Dania
Cut-off because it is connected to the port. Clive said that the project is moving forward and
they are going to deepen channel entry to accommodate what they call Post Panama Canal
Vessels.
Jackye also questioned the mangroves, sea grapes and turtles as questioned in the last
meeting.
Clive advised that we should blame the state for that; he advised that the state had a plan
which was tentatively approved by the Fish and Wildlife Commission. He also noted that he
advised Colin Donnelly, Assistant City Manager that we need to find out if the Fish and
Wildlife Commission is treating every city one the same and that we can not experiment with
this. He also advised that if there is a plan in place. Clive noted that according to the
Environmentalists the sea grapes are killing the sea grass. He noted that The City planned to
trim the sea grapes trees to have them to grow higher to make shade for picnic tables and to
try to restore the sea grass.
Adjourned
Carol Stokrocki motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Craig McAdams. The
meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
