Green Advisory Board
Regular Meeting
Wednesday, October 20, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 5:17 PM.
1. ROLL CALL:

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Green Advisory Board – September 22, 2021 regular meeting.
Motion was made by Charlene / seconded by Laura. Motion passed 5-0.

Introduction of New Member Ariana Perez - Master Naturalist – Nature Tours
Recent Activities:
Discussion about Adopt-a-Waterway with Broward County
Monkey Preserve
Waterway Cleanup happening this weekend - FloVibes
Trash Pirates
Alexis: Working with Restaurants to Reduce Plastic – NOAA Event
November 15, 16 2-4pm
Contact County regarding adopt a waterway plan – include Laura
4. OLD BUSINESS:
Green Advisory Board Budget Request
BECON production of short blurbs - $500
5. DISCUSSION/ACTION:
Alexis asked about nutrients in the canals
Guidance education to homeowners to reduce pesticides and chemicals
New Miami Beach ordinance passed
Email Ariana budget document and flow charts
Motion to hold Beach Cleanups April 16 and September 17. Laura, Alexis – RL meet with PIO
Next GAB Regular Meeting is Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 5:15 p.m.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion was made by Board Member Laura to adjourn the meeting at 6:00 PM and it was seconded by
Board Member Alexis. Motion passed 5-0.
