HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2012-166 - Approved Use of State Law Enforcement Funds not to Exceed $35,000.00 for Mobile Finger Print Scanners RESOLUTION NO. 2012-166 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA,APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION AND USE OF STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUNDS AND FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUNDS IN A COMBINED TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $35,500.00 FOR PURCHASE OF MOBILE FINGER PRINT SCANNERS AND PATROL RIFLES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That the recommendation from Broward Sheriff's Office Chief Donn Peterson, District II, of the City of Dania Beach to expend funds from the State Law Enforcement Trust Fund(not to exceed$20,000.00)and the Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund(not to exceed $15,500.00)for a combined total amount not to exceed$35,500.00 to cover costs associated with the purchase of mobile finger print scanners and patrol rifles, as outlined in the attached composite Exhibit"A", which is made a part of and is incorporated into this Resolution by this reference, is approved. Section 2. That these costs have not been planned or reflected in the current year approved budget; therefore, upon receipt of the appropriation described in Section 1 above, Chief Donn Peterson is authorized to expend such funds for the specific purposes set forth in Exhibit"A". Section 3. That funds for this expenditure shall be expended from available cash balances from: • the City's State Law Enforcement Trust Fund—Machinery&Equipment Account, Account No. 104-21-01-521-64-30 in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00, and • the City's Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund—Machinery&Equipment Account, Account No. 109-21-01-521-64-30 in an amount not to exceed$15,500.00. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5.
