HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2011-145 - Denied - Variance Request (VA-41-11) of Anchor Sign, Inc. on behalf of Sormi, Inc. for property located at 308 East Dania Beach Boulevard RESOLUTION NO. 2011-145—DENIED 12/13/2011 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA,APPROVING THE VARIANCE REQUEST SUBMITTED BY ANCHOR SIGN,INC.ON BEHALF OF SORMI,INC.,FROM SECTION 505-140, OF THE UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 308 EAST DANIA BEACH BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;FURTHER,PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the Dania Beach Unified Land Development Code("ULDC"),Part 5,Article 510, Section 505-140, outlines special signage regulations by location or type of use; and WHEREAS, the applicant, Anchor Sign, Inc. on behalf of Sormi, Inc., has applied for a variance (VA-41-11) to allow a 131.47 square foot wall sign for a new Dollar Store, 42 inches in height and 37.5 feet in length;. (the ULDC Section 505-140(c)(7) allows a maximum height of 24 inches and a maximum length of 30 feet);the property is located at 308 East Dania Beach Boulevard in the City Dania Beach; and WHEREAS,the Community Development staff reviewed this request and recommends that the City Commission grant it; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That that certain application VA-41-11 for the variance described above from requirements in the Dania Beach ULDC, Part 5, Article 510, Section 505-140, a copy of which application is attached to and made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit"A", is approved. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. DENIED on December 13, 2011.
