APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion was made by Randy Wright to approve the July 17, 2013 minutes of the Planning &
Zoning Board sitting as Local Planning Agency and was seconded by David Nuby, Jr. Motion passed
unanimously.
BOARD ITEMS
1) TX-38-13: The applicant, Corey O’Gorman, AICP, with The Urban Group, is requesting zoning
text amendments to allow setback variances for air conditioning units to be reviewed and
approved administratively when associated with the Sound Insulation Program.
Community Development Director, Marc LaFerrier made presentation and recommends approval
for the above text amendment.
There was a discussion regarding the text amendment that would allow setback variances for air
conditioning units to be reviewed and approved administratively when associated with the Sound
Insulation Program administered by Broward County. Some Board Members felt this text amendment
should be city wide rather than for the Sound Insulation Program only.
ANY PERSON WHO DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING ADVISORY BOARD WITH REGARD TO ANY MATTER CONSIDERED AT THIS MEETING OR
HEARING WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS, AND FOR SUCH PURPOSE MAY NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS IS MADE WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE UPON WHICH THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED.
LOBBYIST REGISTRATION REQUIRED - REGISTRATION AS A LOBBYIST IN THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH IS REQUIRED IF ANY PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION IS BEING PAID TO LOBBY THE COMMISSION ON ANY PETITION OR ISSUE PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 01-93. REGISTRATION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE IN THE ADMINISTRATION CENTER.

Motion was made by Randy Wright to amend the wording of the text amendment (Item TX-38-
13) to make the amendment city-wide and not in one area of the City of Dania Beach and was
seconded by Rae Sandler. Motion passed unanimously.
