A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING DOCK RENTAL RATES AND
ESTABLISHING OTHER RATES AT THE DANIA BEACH MARINA FOR
ALL LEASES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City of Dania Beach last amended the dock rates for the City Marina by
Resolution 2008-228 on December 9, 2008; and
WHEREAS, a condition of grant funding accepted by the City from the Florida Inland
Navigation District to reconstruct the Marina requires that the City charge market rate rents for
the new Marina slips and set aside ten percent(10%) of the slips for transient vessels; and
WHEREAS, Westrec Marinas, the City's contract Marina operator, conducted a survey
of similar marinas to establish rates for the new City Marina that form the basis for and support
the Marina's financing plan; and
WHEREAS,the City Commission has adopted a Marina financing plan that includes the
establishment of certain rates to support Marina operations and debt service for the Marina;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the rental fees for vessels in the Dania Beach Marina, exclusive of
sales tax, are established as follows:
Rate Type Summer: June—September Winter: October- May
Annual $750.00 $750.00
Monthly $825.00 $900.00
Transient $1.00 per foot per day $1.50 per foot per day
Section 2. That electric service shall be metered and the fee for it shall be the fee
charged by the electric utility provider plus an additional ten percent(10%)to cover costs of City
administration, billing and collection.
Section 3. That the City Manager may approve, upon written recommendation of the
dock master, adjustments to the slip rental rates, with increases up to twenty-five percent (25%)
above the existing rates to meet market conditions.
Section 4. That the charge for pump out service is $5.00 per occurrence for non-
tenant vessels.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect upon the written
recommendation of the dock master and the subsequent written approval of the City Manager.
