A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, RELATING TO CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CITY
CONTRACT WITH STRAIGHTLINE ENGINEERING GROUP, INC. FOR
THE OASIS IV NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;
INCREASING THE CONTRACT AWARD BY $81,411.00, FROM $74,534.00
TO $155,945.00, TO ADDRESS NEEDED STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS
IDENTIFIED BY FIELD CONDITIONS OF THE PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved a final Oasis IV Project appropriation of
$80,000.000 and subsequently awarded a bid to Straightline Engineering Group, Inc, on June 11,
2013, via Resolution 2013-064 in an amount of$74,534.00, including all alternate items for the
Oasis IV Neighborhood Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, as of November, 2013, a total of$76,033.40 has been expended and paid on
the Project, including the full amount of$74,533.40 to Straightline Engineering Group, Inc. and
$1,500.00 to Public Utility Management & Planning Services, Inc ("PUMPS") for project
consulting, leaving an available Project appropriation of$3,966.60; and
WHEREAS, there were some revisions required during the Project to be made to
property driveways and a request was made by property owners and approved by the Public
Services Department to have all concrete driveways replaced, causing the Project's brick paver
cost to exceed budgeted levels and leaving insufficient remaining funds for planned Project
crosswalks; and
WHEREAS, to address Project cost increases, which related directly to swale area
stormwater improvements, handicapped ramps, and other necessary geometric Project
improvements and entrance features, additional funds are needed; and
WHEREAS, since the recommended additional work is necessary and relates entirely to
needed improvements of stormwater drainage in the road and swale areas, funding is
recommended to be provided by transfer of available appropriations in the Stormwater Fund; and
WHEREAS, proposed Change Order No. 1 adjusts the Contract award for the Project
upward by$81,411.00 to a total of$155,945.00;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing findings are incorporated and made a part of this
Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission approves Change Order No. 1 pertaining to
Strai tline Engineering Group, Inc., to adjust quantities to a revised total Contract amount of

$155,945.00, and the Commission authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute it.
Section 3. That the amount of$81,411.00 will be provided to the Project by a transfer
of available appropriations from the Stormwater Fund, Contingency Account, Account No. 403-
38-01-538-99-10 to the Capital Project Fund, Oasis IV Project Account, Account No. 301-39-32-
541-63-10,
Section 4. That all resolutions or part of Resolutions in conflict with any of the
provisions of this Resolution are repealed to the extent of the conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
