PARKS, RECREATION & COMMUNITY AFFAIRS BOARD
MINUTES OF MEETING
TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2013— 6:00 P.M.
1. Call to Order
Jimmie Peterman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Tim Pelott(excused)

Mark Felicetty, Director of Parks and Recreation
Chris Barile made motion to excuse the absence for Tim Pelott from the May 21, 2013
meeting. Motion was seconded by Lisa Drake. All favored. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Approval of Minutes for April 16,2013 Meetinp.

4. Department Update and Discussion
Mark Felicetty, Director of Parks and Recreation noted the P.J. Meli racquetball courts
and basketball courts were resurfaced and that the tennis courts will be resurface on next
or sub coming year. Mark also noted that Frost Park racquet ball courts are not
completed, due to rainy weather conditions but are now in the process of be completed.
5. New Business
Chris questioned the attendance tracking for the Parks and Recreation Board members.
Mark responded that he inquired with the City Clerks Office who advised that any
member that has three unexcused absences can be removed from the board and that the
City Clerks Office will need a letter from the Chair requesting that member removal.

Mark also advised that the issue of public attendance was addressed as well. He noted
the decision would be up to the Chair to decide if he does not want the public to speak
or the Chair can inform the public to remain quite or the Chair can give them the
opportunity to speak after the meeting.
Jimmy questioned should the Parks and Recreation Board be notified of all the events
happening at the City Parks.
6. Old Business
Mark advised that the P.J. Meli handicap signs were being installed. He also advised that
they now have four active handicap spots in the front of P.J. Meli Park.
7. Adiournment
Lisa Drake made a motion to adjourned the meeting at 6:30pm
Next meeting will be held 6 pm. September 17, at C.W.Thomas Park.
