A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO
SUPPORT THE BROWARD COUNTY AND PALM BEACH COUNTY
"TIGER GRANT" APPLICATION FOR FUNDING OF "QUIET ZONE"
IMPROVEMENTS ON BEHALF OF ALL CITIES ALONG THE FEC
CORRIDOR, INCLUDING ACCOMPANYING LETTERS OF SUPPORT;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS• FURTHER PROVIDIN FOR

EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS the City Commission of the Cityof Dania Beach recognizes the economic

and social benefits of the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway corridor service to the State, region
and City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the City to
support the joint Broward MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) and Palm Beach County
MPO TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Grant of the U.S.
Department of Transportation) grant application for funding of safety and "Quiet Zone"
improvements on behalf of all cities along the FEC corridor; furthermore, the City recognizes
that such safety Quiet Zone improvements may result in additional maintenance and operating
costs to the City at the crossings licensed to the City;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct and they are
confirmed by the City Commission.
Section 2. That the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach, Florida supports
the joint Broward County MPO and Palm Beach County MPO TIGER grant application for
funding of safety and Quiet Zone improvements on behalf of all cities located along the FEC
corridor.
Section 3. That the City Commission recognizes that additional maintenance and
operating costs may be incurred by the City for such safety and Quiet Zone improvements.
Section 4. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with this
Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
