HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2014-035 - Executed an ILA to Provide for Public Improvements (Public Parking Spaces) with a New Mixed-Use Redevelopment Project - ''Mile Marker 55'' Project RESOLUTION NO. 2014-035 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT AMONG THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, THE DANIA BEACH COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (THE "DBCRA") AND BROWARD COUNTY TO PROVIDE FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (PUBLIC PARKING SPACES) WITHIN THE CITY AND CRA BOUNDARIES IN CONNECTION WITH A NEW MIXED-USE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT REFERRED TO AS THE "MILE MARKER 55" PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City is entering into an Interlocal Agreement among the City, the DBCRA, and Broward County to provide for public improvements within the City and CRA boundaries; and WHEREAS, Broward County has committed to award to the DBCRA a reimbursable grant in an amount not to exceed$1,128,143.00; and WHEREAS, expenditures relating to the grant will require a cash outlay by the DBCRA in an amount not to exceed $1,128,143.00 which will be provided through a loan from the City General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to the DBCRA; NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach, Florida, authorizes the proper City officials to execute an Interlocal Agreement on behalf of the City of Dania Beach, Florida, with the DBCRA and Broward County to provide for public improvements (parking spaces) within the City and CRA boundaries in connection with a new mixed-use redevelopment project,which is known as the "Mile Marker 55"Project. Section 2. That the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach, Florida, authorizes a loan and directs a transfer in an amount not to exceed $1,128,143.00 from the City General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to the DBCRA. Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to the Interlocal Agreement which are deemed necessary and in the best interests of the City of Dania Beach. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5.
