HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2014-045 - Requested Approval for Bid Advertisement for Oasis VIII - Neighborhood Improvement Project RESOLUTION NO. 2014-045 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING APPROVAL FROM THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH FOR BID ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE "OASIS VIII - NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT" WHERE BIDDING IS EXPECTED TO BE SOUGHT BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATION; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 27, 2011, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2011-032, which provides that all City Departments, Divisions and City Staff must seek advance City Commission approval by Resolution prior to placing an item on a City Commission Agenda for formal City Commission conceptual approval by Resolution of any proposed capital project or capital purchase appropriated in the City Budget approved by the City Commission, when bidding would otherwise be required, and which Resolution shall also identify all sources of planned funding including appropriations of available cash balances, loans and grants; and WHEREAS, the City Commission approved in the FY2014 Budget the amount of $300,000.00 in the General Fund, City Manager Department for Infrastructure Neighborhood Improvements; and WHEREAS, this funding has been planned for approved bids on Oasis VI and Oasis VII projects with a total estimated cost of approximately $247,700.00, leaving a remaining planned and available balance of$52,300.00; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Administration is authorized to proceed with bidding of a new Infrastructure Neighborhood Improvement project known as Oasis VIII. Section 2. That the City plans to utilize funding appropriations in an amount not to exceed $52,300.00 for this Oasis VIII project by use of available funding in the General Fund, City Manager Department,Account No. 001-12-01-512-63-15. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4.
