Call to Order Mayor Salvino called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: Mayor: Marco A. Salvino, Sr. Vice-Mayor: Bobbie H. Grace Commissioners: Chickie Brandimarte Walter B. Duke, III Albert C. Jones Arrived at 5:03 p.m. City Manager: Robert Baldwin City Attorney: Thomas J. Ansbro City Clerk: Louise Stilson Code Attorney: Tim Ryan 3. Abatement Requests 3.1 Abatement Request from Live Cheap LLC (former owner Dorene C. Darling), 210 NW 9th Avenue, Case#08-1181 and Case#10-0589 (Folio#0234-22-0030) Attorney Ryan noted the first case involved 15 violations. The fine ran for 273 days for a total of $54,758.00, including recording fees of $158.00. The property was purchased by Live Cheap LLC at a Tax Deed Sale. The Special Magistrate recommended an abatement of$5,400.00. Attorney Ryan noted the second case involved 4 violations. The fine ran for 170 days for a total of $17,454.00, including recording fees of $254.00. The Special Magistrate recommended an abatement of$1,700.00. Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to abate the lien to $7,100.00 as recommended by the Special Magistrate, to be paid in 30 days; seconded by Commissioner Jones. The motion carried on the following 5-0 Roll Call vote: Commissioner Brandimarte Yes Vice-Mayor Grace Yes Commissioner Duke Yes Mayor Salvino Yes Commissioner Jones Yes 3.2 Abatement Request from Tal Benharush (former owner Lior Peled), 4841 SW 29 Avenue, Case#2012-1044 (Folio #0232-13-0030) Attorney Ryan noted this case involved 2 violations. The fine ran for 567 days for a total of $56,954.00, including recording fees of $254.00. The Special Magistrate recommended an abatement of$5,700.00. Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to abate the lien to $5,700.00 as recommended by the Special Magistrate, to be paid in 30 days; seconded by Commissioner Jones. The motion carried on the following 5-0 Roll Call vote: Commissioner Brandimarte Yes Vice-Mayor Grace Yes Commissioner Duke Yes Mayor Salvino Yes Commissioner Jones Yes 3.3 Abatement Request from Cynthia Clark (Kellerhouse), 2605 SW 54 Street, Case #2013-1409 (Folio #0232-16-5970) Attorney Ryan noted this case involved 1 violation. The fine ran for 278 days for a total of $41,000.00, including recording fees of $100.00. The Special Magistrate recommended an abatement of$4,100.00. Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to abate the lien to $2,500.00, to be paid in 90 days; seconded by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried on the following 3-2 Roll Call vote: Commissioner Brandimarte No Vice-Mayor Grace Yes Commissioner Duke Yes Mayor Salvino Yes Commissioner Jones No 3.4 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Sean & Penny Eckhardt, 4741 SW 42 Terrace, Case#08-0099 (Folio #0125-04-0270) for$2,500.00 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried unanimously. 3.5 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Barak Rozen, 5091 SW 27 Avenue, Cases #08-1415, #09-0120, and #09-1278 (Folio #0232-01-0340) for $3,500.00 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.6 Approval of the Settlement Received for: BRI, LLC, N. Bryan Road, Case #08-2045 (Folio #08-2045)for$3,500.00 due to foreclosure Minutes of Abatement Hearing 2 Dania Beach City Commission Wednesday,March 4,2015—5:00 p.m. Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.7 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Vincent A. Piedi, 2279 Anchor Court, #1603, Case No. 09-0132 (Folio#0232-AB-0980) for$1,200.00 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously. 3.8 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Fishman Investments LLC, 4580 SW 33 Ave, Case #09-1258 and #2013-1893 (Folio #0230-03-0030) for $30,820.69 due to tax deed sale Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried unanimously. 3.9 Approval of the Settlement Received for: James & Renee Spinella, 638 NE 3 Street, Cases #09-1687 and #10-0305 (Folio #0235-11-0030) for $2,701.84 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.10 Approval of the Settlement Received for: New Horizon Counseling Center, 109 NW 6 Avenue, Case No. 09-2168 (Folio #0234-01-0890) for $4,677.98 due to sale of the property Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.11 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Dawn Lipka, 719 SW 7 Street, Case #11- 0355 and Case#11-0086 (Folio#1203-34-0820) for$2,598.82 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.12 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Hector and Tina Rodriguez, 2741 Griffin Road, Case #11-1008 (Folio #0229-14-0080) for $1,800.00 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.13 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Bernice Falco Est, 301 SE 3 Street, Unit 501, Case#12-0244 (Folio #1203-CH-0410) for$750.00 due to foreclosure Minutes of Abatement Hearing 3 Dania Beach City Commission Wednesday,March 4,2015—5:00 p.m. Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.14 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Lottie Austin Est., 1106 NW 2 Street, Case #2012-1097 (Folio #0233-10-0410) for$1,800.00 due to foreclosure Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Commissioner Jones. The motion carried unanimously. 3.15 Approval of the Settlement Received for: Roxanne Yount Arnold, 2681 SW 51 Street, Case#2012-1334 (Folio #0232-02-0330) for$2,862.50 due to foreclosure Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously. 3.16 Approval of the Settlement Received for N & D Holding Inc., 4800-4822 SW 28 Terrace, Case #2013-0143 (Folio #0232-08-0361) for $15,000.00 due to refinancing of other properties owned by respondent Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice- Mayor Grace.
