A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A FIVE (5) YEAR EXTENSION OF AN
AGREEMENT EXISTING BETWEEN THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,
FLORIDA, AND THE BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR
POLICE SERVICES BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2015 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2020; AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO
EXECUTE THE EXTENSION AGREEMENT FOR SUCH SERVICES;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH,FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City executed an agreement with the Broward County Sheriff's Office
("BSO") dated September 28, 2010 providing for Police Services for October 1, 2009 through
September 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the City executed Amendment number four (4) on October 1, 2014
authorizing an extension of the existing Agreement through September 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City and BSO desires to extend the term of the Agreement for five (5)
years, which is provided for in the existing Agreement;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA;
Section 1. That the City Commission authorizes a five (5) year extension of the
Agreement dated October 1, 2010, existing between the City of Dania Beach, Florida, and the
Broward County Sheriff's Office for police services beginning October 1, 2015 and ending
September 30, 2020, and authorizes the proper City officials to execute the Extension
Agreement.
Section 2. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the Extension Agreement for police services which are deemed necessary and in the
best interests of the City.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
