HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2015-098 - Established a Ranking of Residential Solid Waste Providers & Authorized Officials to negotiate & execute an acceptable agreement for Services for 7 years with the top ranked provider RESOLUTION NO. 2015-098 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A RANKING OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN ACCEPTABLE FINAL AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH THE TOP RANKED PROVIDER FOR A PERIOD OF SEVEN (7) YEARS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the City Administration prepared and issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for residential solid waste services on July 23, 2015; and WHEREAS, the City received two (2) Responsive and Responsible proposals on August 21, 2015 as provided below: Proposer Primary Alternate 1 Alternate 2 Alternate 3 Proposal Waste Management of $28.33 $36.38 $26.81 $34.90 South Florida Waste Pro of $36.86 $37.43 $36.86 $37.43 Florida, Inc. and; WHEREAS, the City Commission has received and reviewed all proposals and determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Dania Beach to provide a ranking of proposers; and WHEREAS, after its selection of the top ranked provider, the City Commission authorizes and directs the proper City officials to negotiate and execute an agreement with the provider and level of service selected by the City Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That after consideration of the residential solid waste proposals received by the City of Dania Beach, the City Commission determines that the top ranked firm is Waste Management of South Florida and the type of service is the Primary Proposal for Curbside Service. Section 2. That the proper City officials are authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an agreement for a period of seven(7) years with the top ranked provider. Section 3. That funding for the agreement shall be provided from planned and appropriated funds in the General Fund, Solid Waste Division-Contractual Services Account # 001-3401-534-34-10. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5.
