DANIA BEACH CITY COMMISSION
ABATEMENT HEARING
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2015 — 5:00 P.M.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Salvino called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Present:

3. Abatement Requests
3.1 Abatement request from Jackie & Pamela Watson (formerly Frank West property),
149 NW 14 Avenue, Case#10-0983 (Folio #0233-11-0010)
Code Manager Eric Walton noted this case involved one violation. The fine ran for 1,750 days
for a total of$875,254.00, including recording/admin fees for $254.00. The property was sold at
a tax deed sale and the new owners brought the property into compliance. The Special
Magistrate recommends an abatement of $17,500.00; the City's out of pocket expenses are
$2,500.00.
Jack & Pamela Watson, new property owners of 149 NW 14 Avenue, thanked the City for their
help and support since they purchased the property. The house will be demolished before they
build a new one on the property. They requested a further abatement from the Special
Magistrate recommendation.
Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to abate the lien to $3,500.00, to be paid in 60 days; seconded
by Commissioner Duke. The motion carried unanimously.
3.2 Abatement Request from Federal National Mortgage Association, 247 SW 5 Street,
Case#2014-1357 (Folio #1203-04-0410)
Attorney Tim Ryan noted this case involved 5 violations. The fine ran for 254 days for a total of
$37,262.50, including recording/admin fees of $362.50. The Special Magistrate recommends
abatement of$3,726.00; the City's out of pocket costs are $1,000.00.
An attorney for Fannie Mae noted there is currently a contract on the property which should
close in 30 days.
Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to abate the lien to $3,726.00, as recommended by the Special
Magistrate, to be paid in 60 days; seconded by Commissioner Jones. The motion carried
unanimously.
3.3 Approval of the Settlement received for DMR Development LLC, 17 SE 10 Street,
Case #07-1443, Case #08-1002 and Case #2014-0214, for $12,000.00 due to transfer
of property
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
3.4 Approval of the Settlement Request for Valeriy Minyazov, 5447 SW 24 Avenue,
Case#07-1691, for$1,000.00 due to sale of property
Vice-Mayor Grace motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Jones. The motion carried unanimously.
3.5 Approval of the Settlement received for James and Dorothea Dobson property, 231
SW 9 Street, Case #09-0202, Case #09-09, Case #2012-0985 and Case #2014-2169,
for$5,872.02 due to foreclosure
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
3.6 Approval of the Settlement received for Marton Services, 2365 SW 34 Street #3 and
#7, Case#09-1960 and Case#09-1964, for$1,000.00 due to sale of property
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by Vice-
Mayor Grace. The motion carried unanimously.
3.7 Approval of the Settlement received for CitiBank NA (Judith Dorian property), 50 SE
10 Street, Case#11-0819 and Case#2014-2089, for$8,500.00 due to foreclosure
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.

3.8 Approval of the Settlement received for Green Tree Servicing (formerly Salomon
Teboul property) 4437 SW 24 Avenue, Case # 12-0243 and Case #2014-1362, for
$8,500.00 due to sale of property
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
3.9 Approval of the Settlement received for L Lucas & S Spassoff Revocable Trust, 2543
SW 58 Manor, Case#2012-1027, for$1,500.00 due to sale of property
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
3.10 Approval of Surplus Proceeds from Tax Deed Sale for Edward Gonzalez, Case #09-
0688, Case#09-2205, 11-0124 & 11-0822, in the amount of$25,000.00
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the settlement agreement; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
3.11 Approval of Surplus Proceeds from Tax Deed Sale for Frank West, Case#10-0983, in
the amount of$6,119.36
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the surplus proceeds; seconded by Vice-Mayor
Grace. The motion carried unanimously.
3.12 Approval of Surplus Proceeds from Tax Deed Sale for Elaine Law, Case#12-0133, in
the amount of$8,118.32
Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the surplus proceeds; seconded by
Commissioner Brandimarte. The motion carried unanimously.
4. Adjournment
Mayor Salvino adjourned the meeting at 5:27 p.m.
