A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO SAM'S LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE
HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($350,000.00) FOR GROUNDS
AND RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE AND AUTHORIZING THE
PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
COMPANY FOR SUCH SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2012, Lawn Wizard USA, Inc. executed an Agreement with the
City for landscaping services to be performed throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement expired July 10, 2014; and
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2015 the City received a notice from Lawn Wizard USA, Inc.,
stating that"Lawn Wizard USA has officially closed"; and
WHEREAS, advertisements for bids were placed on the City's website and Demand
Star on September 1, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach opened bids for Maintenance of Grounds and
Right-of-Way on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, there were three bidders as follows:
Pastora Lawn Care, LLC $312,350.00
Sam's Landscape Maintenance,Inc. $325,728.00
Visual Scape, Inc. $1,240,954.00; and
WHEREAS, Pastora Lawn Care, LLC was non-responsive leaving two responsive
proposers; and
WHEREAS, the City Bid review committee recommends that the City Commission
award the bid to Sam's Landscape Maintenance, Inc. as the lowest, most responsive and
responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the foregoing findings are incorporated by reference and made a part
of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City of Dania Beach, Florida awards the bid to Sam's Landscape
Maintenance, Inc., in an amount of $325,728.00, and authorizes the proper City officials to
execute a contract for the work with that company.
Section 3. That funding for the costs of this contract is approved and funded in
various Grounds Maintenance account#46-50 within the respective City Department's approved
level of its annual budget appropriations in an amount of$350,000.00.
Section 4. That the City of Dania Beach, Florida further authorizes the City Manager
to approve amendments to the contract up to the budgeted amount of$350,000.00 as necessary
for citywide ground maintenance.
Section 5. That all resolutions or part of Resolutions in conflict with any of the
provisions of this Resolution are repealed.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
