Home My WebLink AboutR-2015-141 Authorizing purchase of one (1) Freightliner dump truck for Public Services, not to exceed $146,905.00 from Lou Bachrodt, Freightliner under Florida Sheriffs Contract No. 15-13-0904 RESOLUTION NO. 2015-141 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE ONE (1) FREIGHTLINER DUMP TRUCK FOR THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FORTY SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIVE DOLLARS ($146,905.00) FROM LOU BACHRODT, FREIGHTLINER, UTILIZING PRICING UNDER THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS CONTRACT NO. 15-13-0904 WITH AN EFFECTIVE DATE BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2015 THROUH SEPTEMBER 30, 2016, WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Charter of.the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and materials for the City government in amounts in excess of the established monetary threshold without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission and if such purchases are made pursuant to a competitive bid obtained within the last eighteen (18) months by other government agencies such as the federal government, State of Florida or a Florida municipality or county; and WHEREAS, the Dania Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-10, "Monetary thresholds for certain purchases and payment disbursement authorizations", Subsection(a), sets the monetary threshold or limitation at$25,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Public Services Department has determined that the vehicle identified above can be purchased at the least cost to the City from Lou Bachrodt Freightliner, utilizing pricing and terms obtained under the Florida Sheriffs' Contract No.15-13- 0904 , which is made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference; and WHEREAS, the City Public Services Department has a twelve (12) year old dump truck that needs to be replaced, due to its age and service dependability issues and limited towing capacity; NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the foregoing "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and they are made a specific part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the proper City officials are authorized to execute a purchase order with Lou Bachrodt Freightliner in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Forty Six Thousand Nine Hundred Five Dollars ($146,905.00), under the Sheriffs' contract identified above. Section 3. That funding for this purchase is planned and appropriated in the approved FY 2015-2016 Public Services Stormwater Fund Vehicle Account#403-38-01-538-64-20. Section 4. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to the purchasing documents that are deemed necessary and proper and in the best interests of the City. Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 6.
