Call to Order/Roll Call Chairman Salvino called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present: Chairman: Marco A. Salvino, Sr. Vice-Chairman: Albert C. Jones Board Members: Chickie Brandimarte Walter B. Duke, III Bobbie H. Grace Executive Director: Rachel Bach City Attorney: Thomas Ansbro CRA Secretary: Louise Stilson 2. Citizen Comments Linda Wilson, President, Friends of the Dania Beach Library, noted they will be participating in the 2016 Arts and Seafood Festival, and requested a different location from last year. She also requested additional outreach to the schools and churches to increase use of the PATCH garden. 3. Administrative Reports Executive Director Bach commented on the Hotel Morrison groundbreaking, which was held this morning, and the Fall Harvest Festival on November 21 st. She noted they are trying to work with Collins Elementary to revitalize their garden, and as these kinds of programs are being built, they want to strengthen the partnerships with the local schools. 4. Consent A eg nda 5.1 Minutes: Approve Minutes of October 12, 2015 CRA Board Meeting 5.2 Travel Requests: None 5.3 RESOLUTION#2015-CRA-011 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CRA OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO BE OBTAINED WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING WITH REALTIME MARKETING GROUP (RTMG) TO PROVIDE DIGITAL MARKETING SERVICES FOR THE CRA; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;FURTHER,PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 5.4 RESOLUTION#2015-CRA-012 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CRA OFFICIALS TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE(USDA)FOR THE COMMUNITY FOOD PROJECTS GRANT PROGRAM;PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;FURTHER,PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Board Member Duke motioned to approve the Consent Agenda, seconded by Vice- Chairman Jones. The motion carried unanimously. 6. Proposals and Bids There were no proposals on this agenda. 7. Discussion and Possible Action There were no discussion items on this agenda. 8. Board Member Comments Vice-Chairman Jones questioned if we are looking at starting a horticulture club where we would have available a patch that kids could earn. He also asked about the status of getting electricity and storage at the PATCH garden. Executive Director Bach responded Dion Taylor has worked on a curriculum to partner with schools, and Collins Elementary would be our pilot program. Part of it would be the component of having the kids come to the PATCH to help them grow their own garden there, as well as engaging them in gardening activities and volunteer work, for which there would be additional rewards. She noted the scope of work for the USDA grant application on tonight's agenda would include expenditures for electricity, lighting, and fans. Board Member Duke asked Executive Director Bach to order the patches Vice-Chairman Jones inquired about.
