A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH,FLORIDA,APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION AND USE OF STATE
LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
FORTY FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS
($45,182.00) FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BODY WORN CAMERA
PROGRAM;PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;FURTHER,PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the recommendation from Broward Sheriff's Office, District II, of the
City of Dania Beach,to expend funds from the State Law Enforcement Trust Fund in an amount not
to exceed Forty Five Thousand One Hundred Eighty Two Dollars($45,182.00),to cover capital costs
associated with the implementation of the Body Worn Camera Program,as outlined in the attached
composite Exhibit "A", which is made a part of and is incorporated into this Resolution by this
reference, is approved.
Section 2. That these costs have not been planned or reflected in the current year
approved budget;therefore,upon receipt of the appropriation described in Section 1 above,Broward
Sheriff's Office is authorized to expend such funds for the specific purposes set forth in Exhibit"A".
Section 3. That funds for this expenditure shall be expended from available cash
balances from the City's State Law Enforcement Trust Fund—Machinery&Equipment Account No.
104-21-01-521-64-30 in an amount not to exceed Forty Five Thousand One Hundred Eighty Two
Dollars ($45,182.00) leaving a remaining balance of approximately Fifty Six Thousand Five
Hundred Thirty Three Dollars ($56,533.00) in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.

Re: Body Worn Camera Program Commitment
Dear Mr. Baldwin:
Thank you for your correspondence confirming the City of Dania Beach's commitment to
move forward with the implementation of the Body Worn Camera Program. We are
pleased to be working together with the city as we collectively embrace this new
technology.
The Broward Sheriffs Office, Office of Management and Budget will send a revised
annual consideration letter for FY 2016/17 to include the operating expense for body
cameras which will amount to $83,418.00. The one time capital obligation cost for the
City of Dania Beach is $45,182.00. Please send a check made payable to the Broward
County Sheriff's Office to P.O. Box 9507 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33310.
Additionally, indicate with your submittal if the capital funds will be paid from the city's
general fund or Law Enforcement Trust Fund dollars so we can record these funds
properly on BSO's financial records. Please remit capital payment by August 31, 2016.
