A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF
FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX
DOLLARS ($480,676.00) FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT") FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROPOSED
DANIA BEACH MULTI-MODAL ENHANCEMENTS THROUGH THE FDOT
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, walking helps meet the goals of Chapter 339.175 Florida Statutes —
Metropolitan Planning Organization — to serve the mobility needs of people while minimizing
transportation related fuel consumption and air pollution; and
WHEREAS, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) encourages people to walk for
fitness, transportation and fun; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Alternatives Program of the Florida Department of
Transportation ("FDOT") named in this resolution is an eligible activity under the Moving
Ahead for Progress in the 21 st Century (MAP 21) Program; and
WHEREAS, the City supports this project and desires to receive grant funding awards to
help pay for costs of construction; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved the design and grant application in March
2014; and
WHEREAS, the City received a letter from the Florida Department of Transportation
dated January 25, 2016 awarding the City a grant in the amount of Four Hundred Eighty
Thousand Six Hundred Seventy Six Dollars ($480,676.00), a copy of which letter is attached and
identified as Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to fund all project development, environmental analysis
and design costs separate from the cost of land acquisition and construction for an estimated one-
time total of Ninety Thousand Six Hundred Fourteen Dollars ($90,614.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That City Commission accepts the award for the Transportation
Alternatives Program funding from the Florida Department of Transportation in the amount of
$480,676.00, to be used to improve multi-modal facilities in the City of Dania Beach, Florida
and authorizes the City Manager to execute the necessary agreements and documents.
Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to all related documents as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the
City.
Section 4. That the City's funding match for this project in the amount of$90,614.00
shall be appropriated from the General Fund Reserves and transferred to the Grant Fund
Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)Account.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.

As you are aware, the Department uses the LAP Certification process to determine that Local Agencies are
qualified to administer federal-aid projects. The City of Dania Beach will need to be project specific certified for
Consultant Selection, Bid and Award, and Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) for the referenced project.
Attached is the LAP Certification Qualification Tool to be completed and included with your Preliminary Phase
Submittal on February 27,2017.

project will be rated on several aspects, as shown on the Local Agency Performance Evaluation form, attached
for your information.
