HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2016-166 Awards a Bid to Everglades Contracting, LLC, In the Amount of $539,373.00 for the Taylor Lane Drainage Project RESOLUTION NO.2016-166 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO AWARD A BID TO EVERGLADES CONTRACTING, LLC, IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE DOLLARS ($539,373.00) FOR THE TAYLOR LANE DRAINAGE PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, advertisements for bids were placed in local newspapers on September 26, 2016 for the "Taylor Lane Drainage Improvements Phase 1 Project" under ITB (Invitation to Bid)No. 16-011; and WHEREAS, the City opened bids on October 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. and received five responsive bidders as follows: 1. Everglades Contracting, LLC—Bid Amount$539,373.00 2. Florida Engineering& Development, Corp.—Bid Amount$554,000.00 3. Stanford Construction—Bid Amount $575,195.62 4. Sun Up Enterprises—Bid Amount$585,695.00; and WHEREAS, the City Bid Review Committee met on November 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. tok review all proposals and recommends that the City Commission approve and award ITB No. 16- 011 to the most responsive and lowest bidder, Everglades Contracting, LLC; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That the foregoing findings are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission of the City of Dania Beach awards the bid for the Taylor Lane Drainage Improvement Project in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Three Dollars ($539,373.00) and authorizes the City Manager to execute the necessary documents. Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to the documents as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City. Section 4. That funding for this project was planned and appropriated and is available in the Taylor Lane Drainage Capital Projects Account Number 403-38-30-538-63-10 in the amount of Five Hundred Sixty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($564,850.00) Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on December 13, 2016.
