A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS TO
VARIOUS PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A",
WHICH LISTS REVISIONS TO THE BROWARD METROPOLITAN
PLANNING ORGANIZATION TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM PRIORITIES LIST, AND AMENDMENT TO THE 2040 LONG
RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
FURTHER,PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach ("the City") has identified a roadway construction
Transportation Plan Projects List within the municipality as described in the attached Exhibit "A"
(the "Transportation Plan Projects List"), for which the City is requesting adoption by the
Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO") in the Broward MPO Long Range Transportation
Plan("LRTP")-Affordable and Unfunded Roadway Transportation Plan Projects List and the five
(5) year Transportation Improvement Programs (TIP) as applicable; and
WHEREAS,the City supports and has requested funding for the NW 1 St Street and NW 1 St
Avenue Transportation Plan Projects List with the Complete Streets and Localized Initiatives
Program("CSLIP") grant; and
WHEREAS,the Transportation Plan Transportation Plan Projects List has been derived
from various adopted plans, planning considerations and other processes; and
WHEREAS, the City expresses its support of the Transportation Plan Projects List, to be
funded and programmed as a higher priority in the MPO TIP Priorities List or LRTP as applicable;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach has the list of Transportation Plan Projects List as
described in the Exhibit; and
WHEREAS, the City also desires to make various improvements to NW lst Avenue,
between SW 3rd Street and NW 3rd Street, as described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make various improvements to NW lst Street, between
Bryan Road and Federal Highway, as described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make various improvements to the West Dania Beach
Boulevard Canal Bridge, over the C-10 Canal, between Bryan Road and SW 12t' Avenue as
described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make various improvements to Griffin Road and Old
Griffin Road, between Old Griffin Road and the I-95 northbound ramp, as described in Exhibit
"A"• and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make various improvements to Ely Boulevard, between
Stirling Road and Sheridan Street, as described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make various improvements to SE 5tn Avenue, between
East Dania Beach Boulevard and Sheridan Street, as described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the design and construction of the Transportation Plan Projects List will be
performed by the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), and funding for the
Transportation Plan Projects List will be programmed into the FDOT's work programs and the
MPO's Transportation Improvement Programs ("TIP") or Long Range Transportation Plan
(LRTP); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and
residents of the City of Dania Beach to support the Transportation Plan Projects List, as ranked in
Exhibit "A", for inclusion in the MPO Transportation Improvement Program Priorities List as
applicable, and to support the required amendments to the Long Range Transportation Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct are they are made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City supports each of the listed projects in the proposed
Transportation Plan Projects List set forth in the attached Exhibit"A".
Section 3. That the City supports the proposed amendments to the 2040 LRTP.
Section 4. That the City supports revisions to the Broward MPO's Transportation
Improvement Program Priorities List for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.
Section 5. That the City Manager is authorized to do all that is necessary and expedient
in order to carry out the aims of this Resolution.
Section 6. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Section 7. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
