Relating to Architectural Design Services, Bidding & Construction Inspection Services for Electrical Service Lateral Project (2) RESOLUTION NO. 2018-007 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SERVICES FROM CARTAYA & ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS, P.A., RELATING TO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES, BIDDING AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE ELECTRICAL SERVICE LATERAL PROJECT UNDER PHASE 11 OF THE BEACH REVITALIZATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, following the success of Phase I of the Beach Revitalization, the City is moving to the next phase which includes upgrading the current restroom facilities by the Life Guard facility, providing additional shower areas, and undergrounding the existing electrical overhead facilities; and WHEREAS, Public Services is seeking to purchase architectural and construction administration services for this project; and WHEREAS, Cartaya & Associates Architects, P.A. was prequalified as one of fifteen (15) firms awarded as an approved architectural consultant by the City Commission on October 25, 2016 under RFQ 16-004 by Resolution No. 2016-142; and WHEREAS, Cartaya & Associates Architects, P.A. will provide the architectural design and construction administration services for the proposed electrical service laterals in an amount not to exceed Thirty Five Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Dollars ($35,590.00), a copy of the proposal is attached as Exhibit"A"; and WHEREAS, Cartaya & Associates Architects, P.A. will be responsible in coordinating work with its electrical engineering subcontractor and Florida Power and Light (FPL) for lateral connections to existing facilities at the beach; and WHEREAS, upon review and recommendation of the Director of the City Public Services Department and Deputy Director/City Engineer, the Administration recommends City Commission approval of same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City is authorized to engage Cartaya & Associates Architects, P.A. in an amount not to exceed Thirty Five Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Dollars ($35,590.00) to provide design, bidding and construction administration services for the electrical service laterals as provided in the proposal; a copy of which is attached as Exhibit «A» Section 3. That funding is available and shall be appropriated from the Capital Projects Beach Revitalization Project Phase II Account 301-72-60-572-63-10, which has a current available balance of One Million Seventy Three Thousand Three Hundred Eighteen Dollars ($1,073,318.00). Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5. We understand the City is working with FPL to relocate the exiting overhead powerline to underground along the parking lot parallel to the beach. There will be about 4 above ground transformers along the underground powerline. Cartaya and Associates Architects' architectural scope of work includes exploring solutions to address the above ground transformer to make them visually less intrusive, and coordination with Electrical Engineering Consultant. Delta G's scope of work includes coordination with FPL to site 4 transformer pads, run service laterals to the 4 buildings, and reconfigure the service equipment at each building to receive underground service conductors, and finally call for the removal of the existing overhead service conductors.
