A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO
PURCHASE SERVICES FROM DECOTA CONSTRUCTION IN THE
AMOUNT OF THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS
($39,800.00) FOR THE DEMOLITION OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 242 SW
7TH STREET WITHOUT COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND WITHOUT
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS, FOR A PROJECT THAT WILL EXCEED
THE ANNUAL VENDOR THRESHOLD OF TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($25,000.00) FOR A SINGLE VENDOR IN A FISCAL YEAR;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Dania Beach, Part III, Article 3, Section 4,
Subsection 0), authorizes the City Manager to purchase supplies, services, equipment and
materials for the City government in amounts in excess of the established monetary threshold
without competitive bidding and without advertisement for bids if he is authorized to do so in
advance by a resolution adopted by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Dania Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-10,
"Monetary thresholds for certain purchases and payment disbursement authorizations", subsection
(a), sets the monetary threshold at Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for a vendor for
each fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to demolish a structure located on a property it has acquired
located at 242 SW 7 h Street; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has obtained three written quotes
and determined that such demolition services can be obtained at the least cost to the City, without
competitive bidding and without advertisements for bids, from DECOTA Construction, a
proposal which is attached as Exhibit "A" in the amount of Thirty Nine Thousand Eight Hundred
Dollars ($39,800.00); and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department is seeking approval to exceed the
Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) annual vendor threshold for a single vendor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they
are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes the City Manager to purchase
services from DECOTA Construction for the demolition of structure located at 242 SW 7th Street
and a copy of the proposal is attached as Exhibit"A", and made a part of and is incorporated into
this Resolution by this reference.
Section 3. That the funding for these services are available and appropriated in the
FY 2017-2018 budget in the General Fund, Community Development Account No. 001-15-03-
529-52-20
Section 4. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the Services Agreement as are deemed necessary and proper and in the best interest
of the City.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.

Asbestos report/removal,temporary fence,Tree Protection, Mitigation

Payment Terms:
Fees not included in proposal:
A. Work that is to be completed othan than during normal business hours;
B. Work required to be completed in multiple phases;
C. Consultant fees(I.E.structural design, exediting, etc.);
D. Inspections performed outside of normal business hours
Additional Service and Charges:
Any service not otherwise included in this agreement will require and executed change order.
Additional Terms:
A. Unless otherwise provided,this agreement shall be governed by the law of principal place of business
of the Architect;
B. This proposal constitutes the entire agreement and terms of contract;
