RESOLUTION NO. 2018-051 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR THE 44TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED FORTY NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY SIX DOLLARS ($149,326.00) TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE CITY FOR THE SOLAR STREET LIGHTING PROJECT IN ELIGIBLE AREAS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the 44th year Community Development Block Grant("CDBG") Program for fiscal year 2017-2018 is administered by Broward County Housing Finance and Community Development Division; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach will be submitting an application for the 44th Year CDBG program in the approximate amount of One Hundred Forty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Six Dollars ($149,326.00),to provide funding for a neighborhood improvement project in eligible areas generally described as areas located within the Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency boundaries, and other CDBG eligible benefit areas; and WHEREAS,the CDBG program does not require a City match; and WHEREAS, elements of the solar street lighting project will be installed until CDBG program funds are depleted; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the foregoing"Whereas"clauses are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That that certain 44th Year application for the Community Development Block Grant program for a solar street lighting project within the Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency boundaries, and other CDBG eligible benefit areas, in the approximate amount of One Hundred Forty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Six Dollars($149,326.00)between the City of Dania Beach,Florida and Broward County, in compliance with CDBG regulations, is approved. Section I That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to the application and agreement as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on April 10, 2018.
