A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING BROWARD COUNTY METROPOLITAN
PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S ("MPO") COMMITMENT 2045
METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN AND THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH PROJECTS IDENTIFED IN SUCH PLAN; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach ("City") has identified a roadway construction
Transportation Plan Projects List within the municipality("Transportation Plan Projects List"),for
which the City is requesting adoption by the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization
("MPO") in the Broward County MPO Long Range Transportation Plan ("LRTP") - Affordable
and Unfunded Roadway Transportation Plan Projects List; and
WHEREAS,the MPO approved the draft Commitment 2045 Metropolitan Transportation
Plan ("MTP") Cost Feasible Plan on May 9, 2019; and
WHEREAS,the transportation projects in the City have been identified as a transportation
need and are currently ranked projects in the approved draft 2045 Metropolitan Transportation
Plan Cost Feasible Plan, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated into this
Resolution by this reference, with other unranked projects to be included in the "needs and
unfunded" portion of the MTP; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach commits to work with the MPO, transportation
partners and the public to prepare for project(s) for programming in the MPO Transportation
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and
residents of the City of Dania Beach to support the Broward MPO MTP;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and they are made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City supports the transportation projects identified in this
Resolution for inclusion with the MPO MTP Cost Feasible Plan, as well as other projects that
should be included in the "needs and unfunded" portion of the Plan.
Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to do all that is necessary and expedient
in order to carry out the aims of this Resolution.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
