A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF THE
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT WATER TREATMENT PLANT
OPERATOR"B"POSITION TO OPERATOR"B/C" (TRAINEE); PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Services Department has determined that the Water Treatment
Plant ("WTP") Operator `B" position, as currently and narrowly defined, limits the ability to
address staffing flexibility needs of the City's WTP, which operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a
week; and
WHEREAS, providing flexibility in the job description of the WTP Operator "B" to
include the ability to hire an operator with a "C" license (trainee) will allow for flexibility in
staffing, a level of succession planning, and a career path, in a strategic effort to address future
staffing needs of the WTP; and
WHEREAS,this measure will require the reclassification of the Operator"B"position to
Operator`B/C" (trainee)position;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being true
and correct, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the Public Services Department's WTP Operator "B" position be
reclassified to an Operator`B/C" (trainee).
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
