A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING ADVANCE APPROVAL FROM THE
CITY COMMISSION TO PROCEED WITH THE BID ADVERTISEMENT
FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS THE SOUTHEAST 2nd AVENUE WATER
MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City needs to upgrade water mains located at Southeast 2nd Avenue
from Southeast Park Street to Southeast 151h Street; also, located at Southeast 7th Street from
east of Highway US-1 to Southeast 3rd Avenue; and also Southeast 7th Street from Southeast 2nd
Avenue to Southeast 3rd Avenue due to deterioration of pipes; and
WHEREAS, funds from City reserves will be used for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes City staff to immediately move
forward with upgrading water mains in the area as described above by authorizing bidding of the
construction of the Southeast 2nd Avenue Water Main Replacement Project, with an estimated
cost of One Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,300,000.00) from Water Enterprise
Fund unrestricted net position account number 401-00-00-389-90-02.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED on May 12, 2020.
