HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2020-073 City, Requesting Advance Approval from the City Commission to Proceed with the Bid Advertisment for Professional Engineering Services for Projects Funded Through the Hazard Mitigation Gran RESOLUTION NO. 2020-073 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING ADVANCE APPROVAL FROM THE CITY COMMISSION TO PROCEED WITH THE BID ADVERTISEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR PROJECTS FUNDED THROUGH THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM CITY HALL RETROFIT PROJECT (4337-203-R), POLICE GENERATOR PROJECT (4337- 201-R), FIRE RESCUE STATION NO. 1 RETROFIT (4337-285-R), AND LIFT STATION MITIGATION PROJECT (4337-334-R); PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Emergency Management ("FDEM") awarded, and the City of Dania Beach accepted, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) grant funds for four(4) resiliency projects; and WHEREAS, the City Hall Retrofit Project (4337-203-R) requires professional engineering services for project design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction management for window replacement, structural hardening, and a replacement backup generator for the City Hall building; and WHEREAS, the Police Generator Project (4337-201-R) requires professional engineering for project design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction management for the installation of a back-up generator for the 803 NW 1 st Street BSO police substation; and WHEREAS, the Fire Rescue Station No. 1 Retrofit Project (4337-285-R) requires professional engineering services for project design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction management for window and vent replacement, structural hardening, roof replacement, and a replacement backup generator for the Fire Rescue Station No. 1; and WHEREAS, the Lift Stations' Mitigation Project (4337-334-R) requires professional engineering services for project design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction management for new pumps, controls, and backup generators for lift stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 15, and 16; and WHEREAS, funds from City reserves and HMGP grant funds will be used for these projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes City staff to advertise bids for professional engineering services for the City Hall Retrofit Project; the Police Generator Project; the Fire Rescue Station No. 1 Retrofit Project; and the Lift Stations' Resiliency Projects. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED on July 28, 2020.
