RESOLUTION NO. 2020-095 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A WORK ORDER AGREEMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO DOLLARS ($119,972.00) WITH ADVANCED MULTI SIGN CORP. FOR SIGNAGE PRODUCTION AND REPLACEMENT FOR CITY REBRANDING EFFORTS RELATED TO CITY REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) NO. 18-013; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission approved a new City logo and slogan at the November 14, 2017 City Commission meeting; and WHEREAS, at the January 9, 2018 Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board meeting, the CRA Board, whose members also serve as members of the City Commission, requested that the CRA assume responsibility for the rebranding initiative; and WHEREAS, on February 26, 2018, the CRA Board conducted a workshop to discuss the rebranding concepts and implementation plan, budget and also discussed a desire to implement the rebranding initiative; and WHEREAS, at the February 27, 2018 City Commission meeting, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2018-031, approving a new logo, seal, tagline, brand statement, brand standards and rebranding plan; and WHEREAS, at the March 27, 2018 City Commission meeting, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2018-043 authorizing funding to implement the rebranding initiative; and WHEREAS, on June 12, 2018, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2018-079 authorizing the advertisement for a capital improvement project to create and install signage as part of the Rebranding Initiative; and WHEREAS, the City posted and advertised Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 18- 013 and Advanced Multi Sign Corp was selected as a qualified company and was awarded a continuing contract to conduct signage production and replacement; and WHEREAS, initial funding was allocated in the Promotional Activities Branding Initiative Account No. 001-18-00-519-48-15; and WHEREAS, the CRA is managing signage production and replacement through the Rebranding Initiative; and WHEREAS, CRA Board members expressed a desire for larger signs and directed staff to investigate alternatives; and WHEREAS, staff has researched sign size options and determined the additional costs associated with the request for larger signs as well as minor and newly identified signage yet to be designed, fabricated and installed; and WHEREAS, the cost impact of adding larger signs and the remaining minor and newly identified signs is One Hundred Nineteen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Two Dollars ($119,972.00); and WHEREAS, there is a total of Thirteen Thousand Ninety-Five Dollars and Forty-Five Cents ($13,095.45) remaining in the Promotional Activities Branding Initiative Account No. 001-18-00-519-48-15; and WHEREAS, completion of the signage aspect of the Rebranding Initiative requires an additional One Hundred Six Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars and Fifty-Five Cents ($106,876.55); and WHEREAS, staff requests City Commission approval to appropriate One Hundred Six Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars and Fifty-Five Cents ($106,876.55)to the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance Account No. 001-00-00-3 89-90-01 and Promotional Activities Branding Initiative Account No. 001-18-00-519-48-15 for this purpose; and WHEREAS, staff requests City Commission approval to engage Advanced Multi Sign to provide signage production and installation services through a work order agreement in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Nineteen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Two Dollars ($119,972.00); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA; Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being true and correct, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City has determined that Advanced Multi Sign Corp. is qualified to perform services under RFQ No. 18-013 "Signage Production and Replacement for City Rebranding Efforts." 2 RESOLUTION 42020-095 Section 3. That the proper City officials are authorized to execute a work order agreement between the City of Dania Beach and Advanced Multi Sign Corp. in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Nineteen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Two Dollars ($119,972.00) for production and installation of signs as outlined in Exhibit"A". Section 4. That the City Commission authorizes an appropriation of One Hundred Six Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars and Fifty-Five Cents ($106,876.55) to the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance Account No. 001-00-00-389-90-01 and Promotional Activities Branding Initiative Account No. 001-18-00-519-48-15. Section 5. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor revisions to such contract documents that are deemed necessary and proper for the best interest of the City. Section 6. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 7. Customer agrees to grant permit for the sign retrieval if such an event occurs.
