A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING ADVANCE APPROVAL FROM THE
CITY COMMISSION TO PROCEED WITH THE BID ADVERTISEMENT
FOR THE OASIS XIV NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach has been making improvements to its
neighborhoods through the Oasis projects for over a decade; and
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017, the City Commission approved a list of future Oasis
projects, one of which was the Oasis XIV project; and
WHEREAS, following a presentation by the Public Services Department on February
11, 2020,the City Commission authorized the Oasis XIV project to proceed; and
WHEREAS, the project includes significant safety and aesthetic improvements to
neighborhoods located within the southeast area of the City; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2020, the City Commission approved Resolution 2020-036
authorizing the Oasis XIV Project as the replacement project for the Year 45 Community
Development Block Grant project; and
WHEREAS, the design and bid documents have been developed by Public Utility
Management and Planning Services, Inc. ("PUMPS") and the project is ready to be bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes staff to proceed with the Oasis XIV
competitive bidding for the Oasis XIV project with funds in estimated amount of One Hundred
Seventy Two Thousand Five Hundred Forty Nine Dollars ($172,549.00) from the Capital
Improvements Program budget line item for Oasis XIV project.
Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on September 24, 2020.
