HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2022-036 Pier Contingency Funds Authorization for Use for Unforseen Repairs and Security ServicesRESOLUTION NO.2022-036 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF PIER CONTINGENCY FUNDS TOTALING SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS AND ELEVEN CENTS ($6,729.11) TO ADDRESS UNFORESEEN FACILITY REPAIRS AND SECURITY SERVICE EXPENSES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Dania Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-10, "Monetary thresholds for certain purchases and payment disbursement authorizations", Subsection (a), sets the monetary threshold at Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for use of contingency funds in a fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Public Services Department was directed to pursue various repairs at the Ocean Park pier; and WHEREAS, unforeseen expenses that arose included higher than anticipated security services resulting from the bidding process for citywide security services and pier holiday decorations which were partially funded from the Pier Contingency Fund Account; and WHEREAS, additional funds for pier related services which total Six Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty -Nine Dollars and Eleven Cents ($6,729.11) are being requested from the Pier Contingency Account; and WHEREAS, funds requested from the Pier Contingency Account have now exceeded the threshold of $25,000.00, which requires City Commission approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That funding in the amount of $6,729.11 for pier related services cost be appropriated and funded by a transfer from the Pier Operation Contingency Account No. 405-72- 15-572-99-10 to the Pier Operations Repair & Maintenance Services Grounds Account No. 405- 72-15-572-46-50 Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4.
