TO INSTALL SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION (SCADA) SYSTEMS FOR SANITARY LIFT STATION NUMBERS 8 AND 9, IN THE AMOUNT OF TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS ($24,672.00) AND TO EXCEED THE ANNUAL VENDOR TOTAL AMOUNT OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($25,000.00); AUTHORIZING SUCH PURCHASES TO BE MADE WITHIN THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT'S APPROVED ANNUAL BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Dania Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-10, "Monetary thresholds for certain purchases and payment disbursement authorizations", Subsection (a), sets the monetary threshold at Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for a vendor each fiscal year; and WHEREAS, SCADA systems feature constant monitoring of lift station conditions and provide immediate notification of any malfunctions, including when a high level of sewage has accumulated in the station; and WHEREAS, having real-time information and data on these and other metrics is critical for maintaining a high level of service from the City's utility operation and is considered industry best practice; and WHEREAS, Public Services received three quotes for installing SCADA systems for lift station numbers 8 and 9, and selected Custom Controls Technology, Inc. (CCT), the second lowest bidder based on the contractor's extensive experience with City equipment and high quality of service; and WHEREAS, the Public Services Department is requesting City Commission approval to proceed with the quote received from CCT; and WHEREAS, the cost of this project will exceed the annual vendor amount of Twenty - Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) threshold for a single vendor, thereby requiring City Commission approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the proper City officials are authorized to approve a quote from Custom Controls Technology, Inc. attached as Exhibit "A" and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference, for installation of SCADA systems in sanitary lift station numbers 8 and 9. Section 3. That funding for replacement pumps is available in the Sewer Utility Collection/Repair and Maintenance Services Account No. 402-35-02-535-46-70; funding in the amount of $24,672.00 shall be made in accordance with the City of Dania Beach Purchasing Policy. Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5.
