A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR THE
48TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM IN
THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($150,000.00), TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SOLAR STREET LIGHTS IN
CDBG ELIGIBLE AREAS 2; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the 48th Year Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program for
Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is administered by Broward County Housing Finance and Community
Development Division; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach will apply for the 48th Year CDBG Program in the
amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00), for Census Track 804.05 — Block
Group 2, and Census Tract 805 — Block Groups 1, and 2 eligible areas; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice was published in the Sun -Sentinel on May 13, 2022, ten days
prior to the May 24, 2022, Public Hearing; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on May 24, 2022, during the City Commission
Meeting, public comments were received on the City's proposed application for the "Citywide
Streetlight Improvement Program — Solar Lights"; and
WHEREAS, the CDBG Program does not require a City match;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "Whereas" clauses are made a part of and incorporated into
this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the 48th Year application for the Community Development Block Grant
Program for the "Citywide Street Light Improvement Program -Solar Lights" within Census Track
804.05 — Block Group 2, and Census Tract 805 — Block Groups 1, and 2, in the amount of One
Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) in compliance with CDBG regulations, is approved,
and the submission of the application by the proper City officials is approved.
Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the application as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
