ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order at approximately 5:15PM by Chair Lombardo. Board Members Staff Chair Laura Lombardo Present Planning Associate Joyce McPhee Present Vice Chair Alexis Guillen Present P&Z Senior Mgr. Viviana Batista Present Joanna Granett Present Ariana Perez Absent II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. Approval of Minutes of the Green Advisory Board (GAB) from the November 16, 2022 regular meeting. Motion was made by Joanna Granett and seconded by Chair Lombardo to approve the minutes of the November 16, 2022, regular meeting. Motion Approved (3-0) III. DICUSSION ITEMS a. Recycling at Vacation Rental homes Vice Chair Guillen requested that staff reach out to the City Manager’s Office to request the GAB give a presentation during the next available City Commission meeting SUBJECT: Recommendation for Recycling at Vacation Rental Homes. b. GAB Projects for FY 2023 1. Magnets for the recycling rules Vice Chair Guillen suggested adding a QR Code for things like Waste Management video on proper recycling techniques or website information for the right way to recycle in Dania Beach. Board requested the electronic version of the magnet. 2. Clean up Project Vice Chair Guillen discussed researching the exact location in Dania Beach for the upcoming March 4, 2023, Broward County Waterway Cleanup. Vice Chair received confirmation during the meeting that the Dania Beach location would be the Dania Beach Marina (300 North Beach Road). Green Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 2 December 21, 2022 IV. OPEN DISCUSSION Chair Lombardo suggested inviting a commissioner to the next board meeting to assist in completing board membership and discuss goals for board. Board Member Granett stated she received an email from Charlene Hogan advising that she was no longer on this board. She asked how to proceed with the invitation extended to Olsen Middle School. Vice Chair Guillen wanted to know if they get an ad hoc appointee as they used to have David who was a floating appointee. Chair Lombardo discussed creating an Adopt A Canal program for the City of Dania Beach. She also stated the desire to create a marker to commemorate the people who would sponsor the canal. Vice Chair Guillen stated he was recently told the waterways were the purview of the County. V. ADMINISTRATIVE UPDATES a. Upcoming Board Meeting - Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 5:15pm VI.
