A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A MONTH-TO-MONTH EXTENSION
OF THE AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION
SERVICES CURRENTLY BEING PROVIDED BY LIMOUSINES OF SOUTH
FLORIDA, INC., RETROACTIVE TO FEBRUARY 12, 2023 AND AT
INCREASED PRICING IN THE HOURLY RATE FOR SERVICES FROM
$52.00 TO $57.50 DUE TO INCREASED DEMAND FOR DRIVERS AND
COUNTY MANDATED WAGE AND BENEFIT REQUIREMENTS, AT AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($10,500.00) FOR THE ESTIMATED EXTENSION PERIOD; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 14, 2020,the City Commission awarded the Community Shuttle
Service operation contract to Limousines of South Florida, Inc. (LSF) under the City's Invitation
to Bid("ITB")No. 19-009; and
WHEREAS, following the initial two-year period, the Agreement option for a one-year
renewal was exercised in June 2022; and
WHEREAS, in preparation for pursuing a new bid prior to the expiration of the
Agreement on February 11, 2023, delays with Broward County's review and approval process of
City-provided ITB documents occurred which resulted in the inability to complete the bid
process prior to the Agreement's expiration; and
WHEREAS, the delay in the ITB process necessitates the extension of the existing
Agreement on a month-to-month basis, coupled with an increase in the hourly rate to reflect the
increased costs associated with the ongoing shortage of qualified drivers as well as the addition
of increased living wage rate and benefits requirements; and
WHEREAS, the administration requests that the City Commission authorize the month-
to-month extension of the Agreement retroactive to February 12, 2023;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed as being true
and correct, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the proper City officials are authorized to execute a month-to-month
contract, retroactive to February 12, 2023, at $57.50 per hour for the estimated maximum 12-
week duration of the extension.
Section 3. That funding for the services provided by this Extension Agreement will
be transferred from Public Services Administration Salaries and Wages Account No. 001-39-01-
539-12-10 to Contractual Services Account No. 001-39-01-539-34-10.
Section 4. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the Extension Agreement as are deemed necessary and proper and in the best interest
of the City.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to such extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon
passage and adoption.
