AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 16, ENTITLED "VACATION
RENTALS", SECTION 16-2, ENTITLED "VACATION RENTALS", OF THE
CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO REQUIRE ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION BE INCLUDED ON THE MANDATORY POSTING OF EACH
VACATION RENTAL LOCATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, vacation rentals, or short-term rentals, have become highly regulated by the
state, and the City, consistent with the state, seeks to make minor modifications to its vacation
rental regulations as it relates to disclosures and mandatory posting requirements for vacation
rental properties; and
WHEREAS, the property shall be required to include garbage and recycling collection
schedules and a list of acceptable items to be recycled; and
WHEREAS,this regulation would assist visitors and vacation rental property users to be
in compliance with City recycling and garbage removal laws; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance will continue to assist the City in ensuring the health, safety
and welfare of its visitors and residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH,FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Chapter 16, entitled"Vacation Rentals", Section 16 entitled"Vacation
Rentals"of the City Code of Ordinances, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 16-2.—Vacation rentals.
(j) Vacation rental dwelling unit.
(1) There shall be posted, in the unit on or within ten (10) feet of the front door, all of the
following information:
(i) The name, address and phone number of the vacation rental agent;
(ii) The maximum occupancy of the unit;
(iii) The maximum number of vehicles that can be parked at the unit,along with a sketch
of the location of the parking spaces;
(iv) The days of trash pickup, and a notice that trash shall not be left or stored outside
the unit except after 6:00 pm on the day prior to pickup, and the trash containers
shall be removed from the curb no later than 6:00 pm on the day of pickup;
(v) The location of the nearest hospital and police station;
(vi) A legible copy of the vacation rental certificate;
(vii) A legible copy of this chapter;and
(viii)A legible copy of the agreement between the owner and the vacation rental
occupant(s), for the duration of the rental period covered by that agreement:;
(ix) Garbage and recycling collection schedule., and
(x) List of acceptable items to be recycled.
Section 2. That if any section, clause, sentence or phrase of this Ordinance is for any
reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and all resolutions or parts of
resolutions in conflict with this Ordinance, are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take full effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
