A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR THE
49TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG")
PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($177,575.00), TO
PROVIDE FUNDING FOR OASIS NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS IN
CDBG ELIGIBLE AREAS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the 49t'Year Community Development Block Grant("CDBG")Program for
Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is administered by Broward County Housing Finance and Community
Development Division; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach will apply for the 49th Year CDBG Program in the
amount of One Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars
($177,575.00), for Census Track 805 —Block Group 2 eligible area; and
WHEREAS,Public Notice was published in the Sun-Sentinel on March 18,2023,ten days
prior to the March 28, 2023, Public Hearing; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 28, 2023, during the City Commission
Meeting, public comments were received on the City's proposed application for the "Oasis
Neighborhood Improvement Program"; and
WHEREAS, the CDBG Program does not require a City match;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing"Whereas"clauses are made a part of and incorporated into
this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the 49th Year application for the Community Development Block Grant
Program for the "Oasis Neighborhood Improvement Program" within Census Track 805 —Block
Group 2 in the amount of One Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-Five
Dollars($177,575.00)in compliance with CDBG regulations,is approved and the submission of the
application by the proper City officials is approved.
Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the application as are deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City.
Section 4. That CDBG funding in the amount of $177,575.00 for the Oasis
Neighborhood Improvement Project will be combined with funding from the City's FY23 Capital
Improvement Plan for the Oasis Program in the amount of$250,000.00.
Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. That this Resolution shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
