A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR
THE PREPARATION OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ("RFP") NO. 23-002,
WHICH PROJECT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT OF
ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00);
AUTHORIZING APPROVED DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATIONS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, to ensure that the City adheres to best practices, on April 3, 2023, the
Community Development Department, with the assistance from the City's Finance Department,
published a Request for Proposals ("RFP") for updates and amendments to the City's
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHERESAS, on April 24, 2023, the City received and opened five (5) responses to the
RFP No. 23-002 all of which meet the advertised requirements; and
WHEREAS, on April 26, 2023, the Evaluation Committee, consisting of the Director of
the Community Development Department, the Assistant Director of Community Development
Department, and Deputy Director from the Public Services Department, reviewed the five (5)
submittals; and
WHEREAS, the Evaluation Committee unanimously selected Chen Moore & Associates,
Inc. to provide the City's Comprehensive Plan updates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are approved, made a part of and
incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City approves entering into a contract with Chen Moore &
Associates, Inc. in association with RFP No. 23-002, in an amount not to exceed one hundred
fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00) as identified in the submittal.
Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized to make minor
revisions to the contract documents which are deemed necessary and proper and in the best
interest of the City.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption.
