A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CLOSE OUT OF THE FLORIDA
RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROJECT AT
FRANK C. "TOOTIE" ADLER PARK AS THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE,
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in September 2020 the City of Dania Beach received grant funding from the
Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program ("FRDAP") in the amount of Two
Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) with a City match of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars
($200,000.00) for Frank C. "Tootie" Adler Park; and
WHEREAS, on September 27, 2022, the City Commission approved Conengineers
Builders, Inc., as the contractor for the construction of the project, which project was estimated to
cost Eight Hundred Eighty -Seven Thousand Ninety Dollars and Thirty -Four Cents ($887,090.34),
including Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) in contingency funds; and
WHEREAS, the project is complete with a total cost of Seven Hundred Twenty Thousand
Eight Hundred and Sixty -Six Dollars and Ten Cents ($720,866.10), which is One Hundred and
Sixty -Two Thousand Six Hundred Twenty -Four Dollars and Twenty -Four Cents ($162,624.24)
lower than the expected budget, including all change orders; and
WHEREAS, the savings are due to the removal of the bathroom facility from the project
scope; and
WHEREAS, the existing purchase order with Conengineers will be closed and the
remaining funds including project contingency will be returned to the Infrastructure Improvements
Other than Buildings account, Account Number 103-72-02-572-63-10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the foregoing "Whereas" clauses are approved, made a part of, and
incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission approves the close out of the project and
purchase order, returning residual project funding in the amount of the One Hundred and Sixty -
Two Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty -Four Dollars and Twenty -Four Cents ($162,624.24) to
the Infrastructure Improvements Other than Buildings account under Account Number 103-72-02-
572-63-10.
Section 3. That total remaining residual project funding shall be reappropriated to the
Mullikin Park FRDAP project, as additional City funding for the project that exceeds the required
matching grant funding.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
