A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF INVITATION TO BID NO.
23-009 "PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF LIFT STATION PUMPS" TO PSI
TECHNOLOGIES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED
SIXTY-SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FOUR DOLLARS AND
TWENTY CENTS ($167,804.20); AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO EXCEED THE
ANNUAL VENDOR THRESHOLD TOTAL AMOUNT OF FIFTY THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($50,000.00); PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Dania Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-10,
"Monetary thresholds for certain purchases and payment disbursement authorizations",
Subsection (a), sets the monetary threshold at $50,000.00 for a vendor each fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, sanitary sewer lift station pumps play a vital role in the City's wastewater
management infrastructure, and ensuring safe and efficient movement of wastewater, thereby
ensuring the public health and the environment; and
WHEREAS, several of the existing are showing signs of extensive wear and tear, leading
to a decrease in efficiency and an increase in maintenance needs; and
WHEREAS, the City advertised Invitation to Bid ("ITB") No. 2023-009 "Purchase and
Installation of Lift Station Pumps" Project in the Sun- Sentinel, and posted on the City's website
and Demand Star on June 9, 2023, the City received bids on July 30, 2023 with two responses
being received, shown below:
1. PSI Technologies, Inc. $167,804.20
2. Xylem, Inc. $355,485.00
WHEREAS, the Bid Review Committee reviewed bid responses, which resulted in the
selection of PSI Technologies, Inc. as the most qualified, responsive bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Commission authorizes the proper City officials to execute
an agreement with PSI Technologies, Inc. for the purchase and installation of lift station pumps
in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty -Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Four Dollars and
Twenty Cents ($167,804.20).
Section 3. That funding is available and appropriated within the Sewer Utilities
Infrastructure Improvements other than Buildings Account No. 402-35-02-535-63-10 for Fiscal
Year 2022-23. The City is further authorized to exceed the annual vendor threshold amount of
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for Fiscal Year 2023-23 and 2023-24, for the duration of
this project.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be effective 10 days after passage.
