A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING CYBERSECURITY STANDARDS IN
COMPLIANCE WITH FLORIDA STATUTES SECTION 282.3185(4XA),
DELEGATING ALL CYBERSECURITY AUTHORITY TO THE CITY
.MANAGER, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RESPOND TO
CYBER THREATS AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AS NEEDEDI
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS' the City's IT Division is responsible for the City's networking infrastructure
and the response to cyber-related threats; and
WHEREAS' Section 282.3185(4)(a), Florida Statutes, requires that each local govemment
adopt cybersecurity standards that safeguard its data, information technology, and information
technology resources to ensure availability, confidentiality, and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Section 119.0725(2), provides that the City's cybersecurity strategy and
defense posture are exempt from public record; and
WHEREAS' the City Manager is directed to create and adopt all administrative policies
related to cybersecurity and maintain adequate measures ensuring that the city's technology
infrastructure is safeguarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF'THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1, That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part ofand incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
section 2. That the city commission delegates all cybersecurity authority and
maintenance of policies to the City Manager.
Section 3. That the City Manager is further authorized to respond to cyber threats and
take appropriate action as needed.
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective within ten (10) days of its
passage and adoption.
