ALLOCATING ADDITIONAL AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL RECOVERY FUND PROCEEDS TO THE CITY'S RESIDENTIAL STORM PROTECTION PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS: FURTHER. PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach has been awarded an allocation of Sixteen Million One Hundred Sixty-Three Thousand Forty-Eight Dollars ($ 16,163,048.00) from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) component of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA); and WHEREAS, on April 12,2022, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2022-056, that provided for the allocation of funds toward a number of projects, consisting of $6.2 million for Covid-l9 Response and $10 million in Revenue Replacement Expenditures; and WHEREAS, the City Commission authorized the use of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) ofCovid-19 Response funds for the Residential Storm Protection Program (SPP), providing home hardening grants on a 2: I match of up to Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00), per property; and WHEREAS, the program application period opened on August 15,2023, and the City has received 72 applications eligible for grant awards for a total possible funding award of Nine Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($990,000.00); and WHEREAS, the City Administration is requesting that the City Commission approve the allocation of an additional Five Hundred Thousand Dollars (9500,000.00) toward the SPP from existing Covid-l9 Response ARPA funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are true and correct, and they are made a part ofand incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. section 3. That additional funding in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) will be allocated to the SPP to ensure that all eligible applications may be processed in accordance with the terms of the program' section 4. That the city's ARPA-SLFM projects and expenditures plan is amended and attached as .,Exhibit A," which is made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this Reference. Section 5.
