Home My WebLink AboutR-2024-007 Authorization to Use Royal Auction Group to Auction Surplus VehiclesRESOLUTION NO.2024- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO DECLARE A GROUP OF 22 VEHICLES AND PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND TO AUTHORIZE THEM TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION UTILIZING AN APPROVED VENDOR, THE ROYAL AUCTION GROUP; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Public Services Department's fleet management function includes the annual replacement of vehicles and equipment that have reached the end of their useful life or are in poor condition: and WHEREAS, over several years this replacement program results in the accumulation of a sizeable number of vehicles and equipment pieces that need to be sold via auction to both benefit from the resulting sale's proceeds and clear out unnecessary clutter in the Public Services facility; and, WHEREAS, a specialized auction vendor, The Royal Auction Group, has been previously approved by the City Commission to fully manage the auction at no cost to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a part of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized by the City Commission to dispose of such property in a manner that will generate revenue to the City. Section 4. That the negotiated contract in place between The City of Dania Beach and the Royal Auction Group be used for the auction process at no cost to the City. Section 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict Section 6.
