Buildings constructed on the street lot line (0' setback) with no space to erect a monument sign are limited to a wall sign and a small under - canopy (3 square feet) pedestrian -oriented projecting sign. The pedestrian sign is too small, and the wall sign is not readily visible, for cars traveling north or south along US 1. At the Mayor's request, staff has drafted the attached text amendment, which will allow a perpendicular projecting wall sign (3, x 4') for certain buildings where visibility is an issue.
